1. Policy Statement

Think Cre8tive Group CIC recognises the urgent need to act on climate change and reduce environmental impact. As a community arts and health organisation, we are committed to embedding sustainability into our operations, programmes, and partnerships.

We believe small actions collectively make a big difference and aim to lead by example in our sector.


2. Objectives

  • Reduce the organisation’s environmental footprint.
  • Promote sustainable practices in all programmes and events.
  • Encourage staff, volunteers, participants, and partners to make environmentally responsible choices.
  • Comply with all relevant environmental legislation.

3. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Staff and Directors
  • Volunteers and facilitators
  • All programmes, clubs, and events
  • Office and rehearsal spaces

4. Key Commitments

Energy & Resource Use

  • Reduce energy consumption by using efficient lighting and equipment.
  • Switch off lights and appliances when not in use.
  • Seek renewable energy sources where possible.

Travel & Transport

  • Encourage sustainable travel (walking, cycling, public transport, car-sharing).
  • Reduce unnecessary travel through online meetings where appropriate.
  • Use low-emission vehicles where possible for organisational travel.

Waste & Recycling

  • Minimise single-use plastics.
  • Reuse and recycle materials (music sheets, event resources, office supplies).
  • Provide recycling facilities at sessions and events.

Procurement & Materials

  • Source materials locally and sustainably where possible.
  • Work with suppliers who share our sustainability values.
  • Avoid overproduction of printed materials; prioritise digital resources.

Education & Awareness

  • Raise awareness of environmental issues with staff, volunteers, and participants.
  • Share sustainable practice tips during inductions and training.
  • Embed sustainability themes in creative programmes where appropriate.

5. Monitoring & Reporting

  • Annual review of energy use, travel, and waste.
  • Regular staff and volunteer feedback on sustainability practices.
  • Report sustainability actions in impact reports to funders and stakeholders.

6. Responsibilities

  • CEO / Directors: Ensure policy is implemented and resourced.
  • Project Coordinators & Facilitators: Apply policy in programme delivery.
  • Volunteers & Participants: Follow guidance and contribute to sustainable practices.

7. Review

This policy will be reviewed annually, updated as needed, and communicated to all staff, volunteers, and partners.
