1. Policy Statement
Think Cre8tive Group CIC is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of its work. We believe that creativity and wellbeing flourish when people of all backgrounds and identities feel welcome, respected, and able to contribute.
We will not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or victimisation on any grounds, and will take proactive steps to remove barriers to participation.
2. Legal Framework
This policy is underpinned by the:
- Equality Act 2010
- Human Rights Act 1998
- Public Sector Equality Duty (as guidance for good practice, though not legally required for CICs)
- Relevant employment and safeguarding legislation
3. Scope
This policy applies to:
- All staff, facilitators, directors, and volunteers.
- All participants, partners, and visitors.
- All programmes, services, and events delivered by Think Cre8tive Group CIC, both in-person and online.
4. Our Commitments
We commit to:
- Equal Opportunities: ensuring recruitment, training, and progression are free from bias.
- Accessibility: designing programmes that are accessible to people with disabilities, neurodiverse participants, and those with health conditions.
- Inclusive Delivery: creating safe, respectful, and welcoming spaces.
- Representation: ensuring our materials and communications reflect the diversity of our communities.
- Respecting Identities: using inclusive language, pronouns, and recognising the importance of cultural, faith, and lived-experience diversity.
- Zero Tolerance: taking immediate action against discriminatory behaviour.

6. Responsibilities
- Board of Directors: overall responsibility for EDI compliance.
- EDI Lead (Health Director): monitors practice, leads training, reviews policy.
- Staff & Volunteers: uphold the principles of this policy in all activities.
- Participants & Visitors: expected to behave respectfully in line with our Code of Conduct.
7. Implementation
- Recruitment processes will ensure fair shortlisting and appointment.
- Venues will be checked for physical accessibility.
- Materials will be made available in accessible formats where possible (large print, plain English, easy-read).
- EDI principles will be embedded in training and supervision.
- Feedback from participants will be used to continually improve inclusion.
8. Reporting & Complaints
- Any incidents of discrimination, harassment, or exclusion must be reported to the CEO or EDI Lead.
- All complaints will be investigated in line with our Complaints Policy.
- Action will be taken to address issues, including disciplinary action where appropriate.
9. Monitoring & Review
- Demographic data (where provided) will be collected and monitored to assess reach and representation.
- Annual review of this policy will be conducted, with input from staff, volunteers, and participants.
- Adjustments will be made to reflect best practice and changes in law.
