Thank you for choosing to volunteer with Think Cre8tive Group CIC. You are a vital part of our mission to reduce isolation, promote wellbeing, and connect communities through creative expression. This manual will guide you through your role, responsibilities, and support systems.
Our Vision
We believe that everyone has a voice worth hearing. Our *Sing It Out!* choirs in care homes bring joy, connection, and creativity to older adults, particularly those living with dementia or experiencing loneliness.
Your Role as a Volunteer
– Support choir sessions by welcoming participants and staff
– Offer encouragement and gentle participation in singing
– Help with practical tasks (e.g., setting up chairs, distributing lyrics)
– Be a calm, friendly presence – listening and connecting without pressure
Values & Approach
– Kindness and patience in every interaction
– Respect for dignity, consent, and individual choice
– Creativity, curiosity, and openness to new experiences
– Inclusivity and celebration of all voices – verbal or non-verbal
Safeguarding
– All volunteers must attend safeguarding training and follow our safeguarding policy
– If you witness or hear something concerning, speak to the session leader or Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) immediately
– Do not promise to keep secrets or offer personal advice
Health & Safety
– Be aware of the fire evacuation plan and emergency procedures
– Do not lift heavy equipment without help or training
– If you feel unwell or unsafe at any time, alert a staff member
– Follow any COVID-19 or infection control measures at the site
Communication & Support
– You will be introduced to your session lead and point of contact
– We provide termly check-ins and opportunities for feedback
– You are encouraged to reflect on your experiences and share any ideas for improving the programme
What to Bring
– Comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for movement
– A warm, open attitude and willingness to join in
– A notebook (optional) for personal reflection or reminders
– Your DBS certificate (if held) or ID for verification
Boundaries & Expectations
– Volunteers are not responsible for personal care, medication, or behaviour management
– Always work under the guidance of the session facilitator
– Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times
– Let us know if you are unable to attend a session with as much notice as possible

Volunteer Code of Conduct
Purpose
This Code of Conduct outlines the expected standards of behaviour for all volunteers at Think Cre8tive Group CIC. It ensures a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for participants, staff, and fellow volunteers.
1. Respect & Inclusion
– Treat all participants, staff, and other volunteers with kindness and respect.
– Celebrate diversity and foster a welcoming environment for all voices.
– Avoid discriminatory, offensive, or inappropriate language or behaviour.
2. Boundaries
– Do not provide personal care, medical advice, or manage challenging behaviours.
– Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with participants.
– Avoid giving out personal contact details or accepting gifts.
3. Confidentiality
– Respect the privacy of participants and do not share personal information outside the session.
– Report any safeguarding concerns to the session leader or Designated Safeguarding Lead.
– Do not take photos or record sessions unless authorised by the project coordinator.
4. Safety & Wellbeing
– Follow all health and safety procedures, including infection control where relevant.
– Inform staff if you feel unwell or cannot attend a session.
– Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for movement-based activities.
5. Conduct During Sessions
– Arrive on time and ready to participate in a supportive role.
– Listen actively and respond to participants with care and patience.
– Support the facilitator and contribute positively to the group dynamic.
6. Breach of Conduct
Any breach of this Code of Conduct may result in your removal from the volunteer programme. This ensures the safety and wellbeing of all involved.

Volunteer Agreement Form
