1. Policy Statement

Think Cre8tive Group CIC is committed to supporting the wellbeing and mental health of all staff, volunteers, facilitators, and participants. We recognise that mental health is as important as physical health and that open, supportive environments are essential for people to thrive.

This policy sets out how we will promote positive mental health, provide support when difficulties arise, and create safe, inclusive spaces in line with our values.


2. Aims

  • Promote awareness and reduce stigma around mental health.
  • Support the wellbeing of everyone engaged with our organisation.
  • Ensure staff and volunteers know where to find support.
  • Provide accessible, inclusive activities that contribute to mental wellbeing.
  • Comply with relevant legislation and best practice.

3. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Employees, Directors, and sessional staff
  • Volunteers and facilitators
  • Participants in Think Cre8tive Group CIC programmes

4. Commitments

Creating Supportive Environments

  • Foster a culture where wellbeing is openly discussed without stigma.
  • Encourage work–life balance and reasonable workloads for staff/volunteers.
  • Build safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces in all programmes.

Mental Health Awareness & Training

  • Provide basic mental health awareness training for staff and volunteers.
  • Encourage attendance at CPD sessions related to wellbeing.
  • Ensure leaders and facilitators are trained in trauma-informed practice.

Support & Signposting

  • Offer confidential opportunities for staff and volunteers to discuss wellbeing.
  • Provide clear signposting to local and national mental health services.
  • Ensure participants can access wellbeing check-ins and support in sessions.

Crisis Response

  • Take all concerns about mental health seriously.
  • If someone is at immediate risk of harm, follow safeguarding and emergency procedures.
  • Record incidents factually and escalate concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

5. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Board of Directors: Ensure this policy is implemented and resourced.
  • CEO/Wellbeing Lead: Oversee wellbeing strategy and support structures.
  • Staff & Volunteers: Take personal responsibility for their wellbeing, and support others in line with this policy.
  • Facilitators: Embed wellbeing practices into group sessions (e.g. check-ins, grounding exercises).

6. Monitoring & Review

  • Annual staff and volunteer wellbeing survey.
  • Regular feedback from participants on wellbeing outcomes.
  • Review of policy annually, or sooner if new guidance emerges.
